Each failure costs 5 minutes and animates a Smoke-Warden patrol.
The Laurel-Ash Phial reveals one hidden verse and cancels one false-door consequence.
Non-combat route: cite the correct verse to make the acolytes kneel and open Door IV.

ENC 2 — The Masked Interpretations

Medium · ~55 min · Round archive, hanging masks, cracked lectern, black-water channel, and a sealed page niche.

Debate or fight three interpretations; Insight/Religion DC 16 identifies the one that eats the future.
Recruit Amelia by defending her reading for one full round or giving her the laurel scrap.
A Bronze Mask can possess a PC until splashed with channel water or beaten on a contested Charisma check.
Correctly ordering three lines opens the niche without adding heat to the page.

ENC 3 — The Last Page Burns Forward

Hard · ~65 min · Ascending lava-lit stair, three prophecy doors, falling roots, and a moon well exit.

Burn clock starts at 6; at initiative 20 reduce it by 1, or by 2 after a failed group save.
The Laurel-Ash Phial freezes the clock for 2 rounds or reveals which exit matches Amelia's verse.
Win by reading the true future aloud at the moon well, bargaining with the Ember-Lamia, or escaping with preserved ash.
Killing the Pyre-Voice only buys 1 round; the cave still seals unless the prophecy is resolved.
